Extending Grace
At LBC we believe that we have a responsibility to give everyone in Lymington and Pennington the opportunity of hearing about the Good News of Jesus Christ expressed relevantly and compellingly, so that they can make a decision either to accept or reject Him. We also have a responsibility to partner with others to take the message further, to our county, our nation and the ends of the earth.
We don’t simply seek to tell people about the Good News. We're committed to showing, indeed of being, Good News relevantly to others. We describe this as ‘Extending Grace’ (extending to others the the unconditional love and undeserved favour that God through Christ has extended to us).
We seek to do this on Sundays, particularly through our morning service which we try to make as accessible as possible to those who are unfamiliar with church or the Christian faith. But we also seek to do this through our lives throughout the week, representing God wherever we go and whatever we do.
Our Alpha course is an important means of helping those with questions about life and faith to find some answers. If you want more information on our Alpha course, or want to sign up, please contact Nigel Bayley.
We are also committed to extending grace by supporting Basics Bank, a food "pantry" run by local churches that serves those in need, supplying relevant books to our local schools, welcoming those who move into our neighbourhood, and by running events that we feel will serve people (for example, the Marriage Course, for those who want to strengthen their marriage).
