Prayer is a gift from our Father in heaven who wants to be in communion with us. It’s one of the key ways that we acknowledge and give God glory, and lift to Him the things in our lives that are beyond our control and understanding – knowing that He listens and acts according to his good will.
At LBC, we want to set prayer at the heart of everything we do. If you come to our church, we’d love you to join us as we pray for the life and ministry of the church here. Our greatest need is for the Spirit of God to move powerfully so that people of all ages and backgrounds can come to know and follow Jesus Christ in our area and beyond.
We have three regular weekly prayer meetings, with timings designed to fit around our differing schedules. All these sessions currently happen on Zoom: if you’d like to join one, please email the Church Office and they’ll add you to the church fellowship newsletter, which has all the link and login details. All our meetings last about an hour:
We’re now also holding a once-monthly prayer meeting in the main church building. This takes place on the first Monday of every month at 7.30pm. All welcome!
If you consider LBC as home, please commit to joining one of these sessions on a regular basis – either weekly, fortnightly, monthly or termly. We usually start each meeting by opening the Bible together and using it to praise God, before lifting up the life and needs of our church and community to Him. If you haven’t prayed out loud before and aren’t sure about doing it yet, don’t worry! You can sit and listen to others as they pray. Whatever your prayer experience (or inexperience), we would love you to join us.
Pick up a prayer postcard (you’ll find them in the church foyer), and, if you’d like to tell us which group you’d like to attend. Then drop it into the offering box alongside. Or you can contact us direct:
